Dementors seem to have found work after the Harry Potter films wrapped. August 20th or “Grim Night” has turned into the night to fear death as one night a year, hooded beings called Grims, undoubtedly short for Grim Reapers, descend upon the world’s population to harvest souls.
According to Deadline, Universal Pictures has won out in an auction against six other studios for this spec script by Brandon Bestenheider and Allen Bey. Unbroken Films’ Bryan Bertino and Adrienne Biddle have teamed with Marc Platt to produce the film.
The teaser put together to promote the project conveys the fear beset on the world with 97,112 dead. FEMA PSAs advise people to stay in their homes to “Stay Alive, Stay Inside.” (Sadly, the toll free phone number on the posters don’t actually lead to any more details of the film.)
