Green Lantern to Shoot In New Orleans and Lead Up to Justice League Movie?

061809_greenlanternWe told you recently that “Green Lantern” had to pull out of its Australian shooting locations due to economic issues and there was speculation that production could be heading to Mexico or Canada, but it appears that the new location could be The Big Easy.

According to The Times-Picayune, “Green Lantern” could be shooting in New Orleans, Louisiana. The manager of studio operations at Second Line Stages in New Orleans reported that producers for “Green Lantern” have contacted him about the studio space, and that “‘Green Lantern’ production offices could be set up in town as early as this week.”

I really hope that is true and having found a new location so quickly will probably mean less of a delay in Production than previously feared.

While that news is fantastic, there was a bit of news buried in the Times-Picayune’s article, which posits an interesting rumor about DC’s on-screen plans for a “Justice League” movie.

Towards the end of the article, “Green Lantern” is mentioned as

“the first in a trilogy of films focusing on DC’s Justice League heroes—the others being ‘The Flash’ and ‘Wonder Woman’—before uniting all three with fellow League members Batman, Superman and Aquaman for a Justice League movie.”

While I hope that ends up being more fact than fiction, the various rumors and false starts on Justice League projects over the years remind me to take it with a grain of salt and not to hold my breath.
