Green Lantern: Filming Complete, First Look at Kilowog, Sequel Greenlit and Writer Hired


DC Entertainment‘s Chief Creative Officer and comic book/television writer, Geoff Johns took to twitter just a few days ago and said that the Martin Campbell directed big-screen adaptation of Green Lantern, starring Ryan Reynolds which has been filming in New Orleans had completed it’s final shot.

ComicBookMovie has reportedly gotten their hands on a picture they claim is “Direct from the art department of the recently wrapped Green Lantern movie set” of the primary trainer of the Green Lantern Corps. from the planet Bolovax Vik, the mighty Kilowog! Check it out below

Since there is so much CGI planned for the film, it will obviously be in post production for quite some time but hopefully we will see a trailer soon… Stay tuned!

Just a couple of months ago, we brought you a report that Green Lantern writers Greg Berlanti, Michael Green and Marc Guggenheim were hired to write a treatment for the sequel to Green Lantern. Now, Variety reports that Warner Bros. has hired screenwriter Michael Goldenberg (Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix) to write the screenplay for Green Lantern 2. Goldenberg also had a hand in re-writes for the first Green Lantern film.

The film is directed by Martin Campbell and stars Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, Peter Sarsgaard, Mark Strong, Angela Bassett, Temuera Morrison, Jon Tenney and Tim Robbins.

Green Lantern is slated to hit theaters on June 17th, 2011.
