NBC has announced that the premiere of the final season of Chuck and the series premiere of Grimm have each been delayed by one week. Instead of Friday, October 21st at 8 and 9pm, respectively, they have been moved to October 28th, still at 8 and 9pm EST. Here’s their announcement, with a lovely, if somewhat confusing, spin:
NBC builds two nights of Halloween-themed programming as the final season debut of Chuck (Fridays, 8-9 p.m. ET) and the series premiere of new drama Grimm (Fridays, 9-10 p.m. ET) will begin on Friday, October 28. Likewise, Halloween-themed episodes of NBC’s Thursday-night comedies – Community, Parks and Recreation, The Office and Whitney — will be telecast October 27 in recognition of the holiday.
Everyone’s favorite secret agent is back in the final season of the action-comedy Chuck as series star Zachary Levi (Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel) returns as Chuck Bartowski — a regular guy who also happens to be the government’s most vital secret agent.
Grimm is a new drama inspired by the Grimm’s Fairy Tales and stars David Giuntoli (“Turn the Beat Around”) as a Portland homicide detective who discovers that he is descended from an elite line of criminal profilers known as “Grimms” who are charged with keeping balance between humanity and ominous mythological creatures.
Sooo… Chuck is “Halloween-themed programming”? We get how they could include Grimm, since there is rumored to be fairy tale involvement in the show, but Chuck… Well, we would give candy to kids dressed up in Nerd Herd outfits, so ok! Besides, we’re always happy to have spy-fi and fantasy shows help out their networks during November (which start near the end of October) sweeps. Good luck to both shows; we’ll be watching!
The final season of Chuck will premiere on Friday, October 28 at 8/7c, followed by the series premiere of Grimm at 9/8c, on NBC.
