As I watched the credits roll on the still epic Shaun of the Dead, I had always hoped for a sequel, or possibly another Brit-Zom-Com that kept that same spirit while carrying it in a different way. Thanks to the writing prowess of James Moran and Lucas Roche, along with the direction of Matthias Hoene, Cockneys Vs. Zombies may just fit the bill.
The film stars Michelle Ryan, Rasmus Hardiker and Harry Treadaway as cousins who attempt to rob a bank so that they can save their old granddad (Alan Ford) from having to leave his retirement home in the Eastend. In the midst of the heist, a zombie epidemic reaches apocalyptic proportions and the trio have to fight for survival alongside elderly pensioners.
