GAME OF THRONES: A Royal Recasting, Production Pushed Back


The latest news in the HBO television series adaption of George R.R. Martin’s “Song of Ice and Fire” fantasy novels is the recasting of the role of Daenerys Targaryen. Actress Tamzin Merchant was cast in “Game of Thrones” for the pilot, but has since left the project. Up and coming British actress Emilia Clarke has been cast in Merchant’s place as one of the last members of the exiled Targaryen royal family.

HBO has also confirmed the show’s production for the series in Belfast, Ireland had been pushed back from June to late July of this year. The some scenes of the pilot need to be reshot after the recasting for both the roles of Daenerys Targaryen and Catelyn Stark who was originally played by Jennifer Ehle, now replaced by Michelle Fairley.
