G.I. Joe 2 Recruits Wonder Woman: Adrianne Palicki Joins the Cast

Yesterday, we brought you news of The Rock aka Dwayne Johnson kicking some Cobra ass with the help of ninjas in Jon M. Chu’s G.I. Joe sequel, titled Cobra Strikes. Paramount Studios has certainly been busy with their casting with this piece of wonderous news:

TVGuide reports that Adrianne Palicki has been cast as Lady Jave, the “team’s covert operations specialist and a love interest for warrant officer Flint, who will be played by Detroit 1-8-7‘s D.J. Cotrona.” Palicki (Red Dawn, Friday Night Lights) starred in David E. Kelley’s Wonder Woman reboot for NBC for the upcoming fall season but the series was not picked up.

As for casting for G.I. Joe, Joe Colton, rumor has it that the studio is looking at Bruce Willis as well as several other actors.

Ray Park (Snake Eyes), Byung-hun Lee (Storm Shadow) and Channing Tatum (Captain Duke Hauser) are so far, the only three returning members of the Joe team from the first film that are attached to the sequel.

The G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes is slated to hit theaters on August 10th, 2012.
