Earlier this week, we brought you a look at where the Zombieland writers, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, are taking Paramount’s G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation. From the looks of the parts they are casting for, we see that this project seeks to put together the right ingredients for a dynamic interplay of personalities on-screen (if not stereotypical flavors of an ensemble cast for action movie) and we can also glean a possible geopolitical context to the film.
Shooting commenced this week for G.I. Joe: Retaliation and I’d be lying if I said that this pic didn’t get me hyped for this sequel. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, who plays Roadblock, tweeted the below pic with the message:
1st day of shooting. 110 degrees. Bring It.
Can I just start calling this sequel G.I. Man-Candy?
G.I. Joe: Retaliation stars Channing Tatum, Dwayne Johnson, Ray Stevenson, Byung-hun Lee, Adrianne Palacki, RZA, D.J. Cotrona, Elodie Young, Joe Mazzello, and Ray Park. The film begins shooting this month in New Orleans.
G.I. Joe: Retaliation is slated to hit theaters on June 29, 2012.
