Fox Picks Up THE SHADOW, Raimi To Produce – Slade To Direct?

We told you back in January that Sam Raimi was rumored to be producing and directing a reboot of The Shadow that was set up at Sony with the script for the reboot reportedly written by newcomer Slavash Farahani. Now, 20th Century Fox appears to have picked up the rights to THE SHADOW.

The studio is planning to bring Sam Raimi and director David Slade together on the project. David Slade directed 30 Days Of Night for Sam Raimi’s Ghost House Pictures, and is currently finishing work on the latest installment of The Twilight Saga, “Eclipse”.

Alec Baldwin starred in the original 1994 film version of The Shadow. The movie was based on a collection of serialized dramas, originally on 1930s radio and then in a wide variety of media, that follow the exploits of the title character, a crime-fighting vigilante with psychic powers.
