The casting news for Guardians of the Galaxy has been ambitious and if I was ever-so-slightly on the fence about the movie, we just heard last week that Glenn Close would be playing the leader of Nova Corp, and today we’re happy to report a former Doctor Who companion is set to go up against the Guardians.

That’s right, Whovians, Karen Gillan (Amy Pond) is set to play the lead female villain according to THR. Nothing else has been revealed about the Scottish actress’s role, but we sure are thrilled to see her on another space adventure!
