Ewan McGregor Takes The Lead In Terry Gilliam’s The Man Who Killed Don Quixote

Terry Gilliam was interviewed at the Cannes Film Festival and the director revealed that Ewan McGregor will star in the director’s upcoming film, The Man Who Killed Don Quixote. McGregor will be replacing Johnny Depp, who had been attached to a previous version of the project for quite some time.

While there has been a great deal of work done to the original script, if it adheres closely to the original, it will revolve around a 21st century advertising executive (Ewan McGregor) who travels back in time to 17th century Spain, where he meets Don Quixote (Robert Duvall) and becomes involved in adventures with him, becoming an unwitting Sancho Panza.

Gilliam is planning to start production in September.
