EVIL DEAD Finalizes Cast With Melrose Place Star Jessica Lucas and Elizabeth Blackmore


Following up on casting news on Sam Raimi’s remake of The Evil Dead, we are seeing the final casting decisions for the film. Last month, we brought you news that Jane Levy (Suburgatory, Fun Size) had landed the starring role of Mia in the place of Lily Collins (Mirror, Mirror, Priest) due to “scheduling issues.”

According to THR, rounding out The Evil Dead cast for this FilmDistrict and Ghost House film are Jessica Lucas (Melrose Place, Cloverfield) and the fresh face of Elizabeth Blackmore (Legend of the Seeker). Lucas is in talks for the role of Mia’s best friend, Olivia. Blackmore has landed the role of Natalie, fiancée of David, Mia’s brother, to be played by Shiloh Fernandez (Red Riding Hood.) Lou Taylor Pucci (Carriers) has been cast as Eric, the dumbass that reads from the Book of the Dead.

Synopsis:

“Five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin where they discover a Book Of The Dead and unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival.”

The Evil Dead is slated to hit theaters on April 12th, 2013.
