Arclight Films Takes on International Sales of the Spierig Brothers’
PREDESTINATION

Time Travel Sci-Fi Thriller Starring Ethan Hawke Destined to be a Market Hit

LOS ANGELES (May 14, 2012) – Arclight Films, announces it has taken on international sales of time travelling sci-fi action thriller PREDESTINATION starring Ethan Hawke, who is no stranger to the genre (GATTACA) to their roster of new films. PREDESTINATION is written and will be directed by Spierig Brothers, Michael and Peter.

Brisbane-based Patrick Mc Donald of Wolfhound Pictures and Tim McGahan of Blacklab Entertainment who brought the project to Arclight are producing.

PREDESTINATION is a riveting adventure through time centered on a secret government time traveling agency designed to prevent future killers and terrorists from committing their crimes.

PREDESTINATION chronicles the life of a Temporal Agent sent on an intricate series of time-travel journeys designed to ensure the continuation of his law enforcement career for all eternity. Now, on his final assignment, the Agent must recruit his younger self while pursuing the one criminal that has eluded him throughout time.

“PREDESTINATION is based on the classic Robert A. Heinlein short story ‘-All you Zombies-‘. No, it’s not a Zombie flick,” said the Spierig Brothers. “This is one of our favourite short stories for the simple fact that we can confidently say, this is unlike anything you’ve ever read before, truly original,” they continued. “The short is on many sci-fi lists as one of the greatest short stories of all time, and the mother of all time paradox tales. Heinlein is considered one of the great science fiction masters along side Phillip K. Dick, Isaac Asimov, and Arthur C. Clarke.”

The Spierig Brother’s 2010 hit Daybreakers (with Ethan Hawke, Willem Dafoe and Sam Neill) premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and was released in the United Kingdom and North America the following January. The film grossed over $50 million (US).

The film is slated to shoot in Australia at the start of 2013, early pre-production and casting is under way.
