Re-imaginings of classic fairy tales are certainly on trend in Hollywood right now and the ever creative-workaholic Guillermo del Toro (Pacific Rim, Pan’s Labyrinth) has added another film onto his plate. del Toro will be adapting Beauty and the Beast which will star an actress that we have literally watched grow up before our very movie-watching eyes.

According to Coming Soon, the young and beautifully talented Harry Potter alumi Emma Watson is set to star in del Toro’s Beauty and the Beast. del Toro has teamed up with Denise Di Novi (Crazy, Stupid, Love) to produce the project.

I am terribly excited about this project. Guillermo del Toro producing this project and I can’t wait to see what direction he takes with re-imagining Beauty and the Beast. This would be a great project for Emma Watson to break away from her Harry Potter identity. What do you guys think?
