Emma Thompson Joins The Cast of MEN IN BLACK 3

Emma Thompson (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2) is reportedly in negotiations to join the cast of director Barry Sonnenfeld‘s latest installment of the Men in Black franchise, Men in Black III. Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones will be reprising their roles, Josh Brolin will portray a younger version of Tommy Lee Jones’ character, Agent Kay, and Jemaine Clement will portray the villain.

Thompson is after the role of Agent Oh. THR reports that Agent Oh is an aggressive MIB agent who is in charge of monitoring a prison break while Deadline reports that the Agent Oh character is the head of MIB.

While both could be simultaneously true, with Rip Torn having had some personal “troubles”, Thompson could either be the replacement for Torn’s Zed character, or because of the time travel element in this third installment, she could be Zed’s 1969 counterpart.

Men in Black III is slated to hit theaters on May 25th, 2012.
