Last month, Brazilian actor Wagner Moura (Elite Squad, Elite Squad 2) was cast as the lead villain in director Neill Blomkamp‘s (District 9) forthcoming sci-fi film Elysium, which already features the likes of Matt Damon, Sharlto Copley and Jodie Foster.

Now, add one more to that cast of notable actors in Blomkamp’s sophomore trip to the big-screen. Variety reports that William Fichtner (The Dark Knight, Drive Angry 3D) is in final negotiations to join the cast of Blomkamp’s second sci-fi epic. Elysium will mark a sci-fi reunion of sorts for Fichtner and Jodie Foster, who played Kent and Ellie (respectively) in the 1997 big-screen adaptation of Carl Sagan‘s novel, Contact.

Elysium is slated to hit theaters on March 8th, 2013.
