Back in December, we told you that Sharlto Copley (Men in Black III) and Matt Damon (True Grit, The Adjustment Bureau) had joined the cast of District 9 director, Neill Blomkamp‘s forthcoming sci-fi film, Elysium.

Then, earlier this month, we brought you a report (via Deadline) that Jodie Foster (Contact, God of Carnage, The Beaver) had also joined the cast of Elysium. Now, Foster tells Empire that she actually hasn’t signed on for Blomkamp’s next sci-fi project.

Foster says,

“Actually, I’m not on that movie! I don’t know how that got out there, Well, I’m not not on it, but I’m not booked or involved in a deal yet. People want to jump the gun on Neill because he’s the new David Fincher or whatever. And I get why – I love him and District 9 was my favourite film of 2009. But we’re just not at that time in the process yet…”

Elysium is slated to hit theaters in 2012.
