Despite previous reports to the contrary, last month we brought you the news that Jodie Foster (Contact, God of Carnage, The Beaver) herself had said that she had not officially joined the cast of director Neill Blomkamp‘s (District 9) forthcoming sci-fi film, Elysium.

Now, THR reports that she is a lead member of the cast, and the have added yet another cast-member that will join the previously cast Sharlto Copley (Men in Black III) and Matt Damon (True Grit, The Adjustment Bureau) in the film. Brazilian actor Wagner Moura (Elite Squad, Elite Squad 2) will play the film’s villain, described as having a crazy sense of humor.

Elysium is slated to hit theaters on March 8th, 2013.
