Dwayne Johnson to Lay The Smack Down As LOBO

In late May we heard the rumour that Dwayne Johnson may play β€œHe-Who-Devours-Your-Entrails-And-Thoroughly-Enjoys-It.” Following up with our coverage of the big-screen adaptation of DC Comics’ Lobo, produced by Joel Silver and Akiva Goldsman, we hear word straight from the wrestler-turned-actor.

Via his Twitter feed, Johnson tweeted a confirmation of his casting as Lobo, the intergalactic bounty hunter:

Writer-director Brad Peyton worked with Johnson before in Journey 2: The Mysterious Island and Peyton will be writing and directing Lobo as well. Seems like a perfect fit, no?

Lobo was created by Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen, and debuted in issue #3 of Omega Men back in 1983. The character was originally an interstellar alien mercenary and bounty hunter, and made a comeback in the 90s as an anti-hero biker.

No production or release dates have been announced for Lobo.
