Kyle Buchanan at Movieline recently interviewed actor Dominic Cooper (Mamma Mia!) and in an upside down way, managed to scoop some interesting information from him about Kenneth Branagh’s upcoming Marvel Studios film THOR.
Nearing the end of the interview, while they were talking about the possibility of Mamma Mia! 2, Buchanan noticed a Thor script beside him and directly asked him if he had been approached to play a role in Thor, to which he replied,
Ummm…yeah. Kind of.
Buchanan then asked if anything had been finalized, to which Cooper replied,
No, absolutely not.
Cooper then questioned Buchanan, asking –
Do you know much about Thor? and Tell me: Is there a good part for me? Which one would you see me as?
Having read what was on the top page (upside down), Buchanan wittingly replied
“Fandral, maybe?”
Cooper then looked down at the script sides and said,
“You know! You’re looking at these very confidential pages!”
Buchanan then said
“I can read upside down, Dominic”
to which Cooper laughingly replied
“It says “confidential,” Kyle!”
This interview took place a few weeks ago and no official announcements have been made regarding Cooper, not to mention De Niro or Law.
Fandral was a charter member of The Warriors Three, which also consisted of the Asgardians, Hogun and Volstagg. He fought alongside Thor, on numerous occasions for the safety and well being of Asgard. He was known for his superior swordsmanship, bravery, ego and extreme optimism. No matter the consequences he would always do the right thing, even if the result was death. His ego was more of a disadvantage than an asset. His good looks and suave charms made him the ladies man of The Warriors Three but his tendency to court more than one woman at a time got him into trouble.
