Disney’s FROZEN to Star the Voices of Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel

In January, we brought you news that Walt Disney Animation Studios would be bringing in the snow of a bewitching queen just in time for the 2013 holiday season. Frozen, a CG-animated movie, is based off The Snow Queen story written by Hans Christian Andersen in 1845 and would be presented in stereoscopic 3D.

THR reports that Frozen will feature the voices of Kristen Bell (Dance of the Mirlitons, Veronica Mars), pictured above right, and Idina Menzel (Glee, Enchanted), pictures above left. The story has evolved from the Anderson original to this:

Frozen chronicles ‘a prophecy trapping a kingdom in eternal winter. Anna (Bell) must team up with Kristoff, a daring mountain man, on the grandest of journeys to find the Snow Queen (Menzel) and put an end to the icy spell. Encountering Everest-like extremes, mystical creatures and magic at every turn, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom from destruction.’”

No word yet on who will play Kristoff in Frozen.

Frozen is helmed by animator and director Chris Buck (Surf’s Up, Tarzan). Peter Del Vecho (Winnie the Pooh, The Princess and the Frog) is producing the project. This animated adventure will feature songs by Broadway duo, Robert Lopez (The Book of Mormon) and wife Kristen Anderson-Lopez (In Transit), who have also worked with Del Vecho on Winnie the Pooh.

Frozen is slated to hit theaters November 27, 2013.
