Disney Taps Jesse Wigutow for Adaptation of PETER AND THE STARCATCHERS

Revisiting another classic property, Walt Disney Pictures is moving forward on adapting a prequel for Peter Pan. Disney has acquired the rights to adapt the 2004 best-selling children’s book, Peter and the Starcatchers by Dave Barry and Ridley Pierson.

According to Deadline, the studio has tapped scribe Jesse Wigutow (Osterman Weekend, Irreparable Harm) to write the script for the movie. Peter and the Starcatchers is the first book of a series so there is the potential for a franchise property with this project.

Wigutow is also working on Relativity Media’s unnecessary reboot of The Crow with F. Javier Gutiérrez (Before the Fall, Monkey’s Paw) at the helm.
