Director of THE INCREDIBLES, Brad Bird could be taking on Mission: Impossible IV. THR says the that Abrams and Paramount are looking at Bird is a contender in the search for a director for the fourth installment in the action series, which will reunite Tom Cruise with producer J.J. Abrams.

Bird is not the only name mentioned, the studio is also looking at Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland) and Edgar Wright (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) as possible contenders to take us on the next Mission.

Mission: Impossible IV is set to hit theaters on May 27, 2011.
