David Tennant Not Coming To American TV Yet

NBC has passed on picking up the pilot for legal drama “Rex Is Not Your Lawyer” which stars now-ex “Doctor Who” actor, David Tennant.  The show is not canceled, but rather “on hold”.  “Rex Is Not Your Lawyer” was originally to slide into the vacated Jay Leno-10pm spot.  The hold could be because NBC wants to premiere the show with its fall line-up.

Rex Is Not Your Lawyer”s impressive cast also included Jerry O’Connell, Jane Curtin, Abigail Spenser, and Jeffrey Tambor.

Word is that the sets for the show are being taken down this week.  While this sounds alarming for the fate of the show, an NBC source insists that the show isn’t gone for good:

“The sets are on fold-and-hold.  They will still be available if the show is picked up for the fall.”

Rex Is Not Your Lawyer” has been in development by NBC for almost two years.  The pilot was in the can last December.
