David E. Kelley’s WONDER WOMAN Lassos A Spot On Fall Pilot Season With NBC

David E. Kelley’s Wonder Woman has secured itself a spot on next fall’s season with NBC after all. After the script was passed on by all the major networks, including NBC, at the beginning of this month, the fate of this Wonder Woman reboot seemed unclear, but new Entertainment President Bob Greenblatt of NBC made an unexpected announcement that Kelley’s reboot with Warner Bros TV had indeed received a pilot pickup.

What was the reason for NBC’s change of heart? It was a logistical situation in that “the network couldn’t commit to the type of license fee that the studio was seeking in order to do the show Kelley had envisioned” with Greenblatt “still on the sidelines.” Now the NBC-Comcast deal is complete with Greenblatt is the new Entertainment President and factoring in Kelley’s successful delivery of Harry’s Law to strong ratings, the project is a “go”.

Kelley’s Wonder Woman is “a reinvention of the iconic D.C. comic in which Wonder Woman — aka Diana Prince — is a vigilante crime fighter in L.A. but also a successful corporate executive and a modern woman trying to balance all of the elements of her extraordinary life.”

Now we can go back to armchair casting – who would you want to be the next Wonder Woman?
