Warner’s “The Dark Knight” was the big winner at the Saturn Awards Wednesday night, taking five nods.

The Batman pic won for action-adventure-thriller, music (Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard), writing (Christopher and Jonathan Nolan), supporting actor (the late Heath Ledger) and special effects.

Drawing three kudos each from the Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films were “Iron Man” and “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” both from Paramount.

“Iron Man” won as top sci-fi pic; Jon Favreau took directing honors, and Robert Downey Jr. was named best actor.

“Benjamin Button” was top fantasy film; Tilda Swinton took supporting actress, and Greg Cannom won for makeup.

“Hellboy II” drew the horror film nod, while “Wall-E” topped the animated category. Angelina Jolie took the actress kudo for “Changeling.”

On the TV side, “Battlestar Galactica” drew three nods: cable-syndicated series, TV actor (Edward James Olmos) and TV actress (Mary McDonnell). “Lost” took network series honors.

Jerry Bruckheimer presented the inaugural Visionary Award to DreamWorks Animation topper Jeffrey Katzenberg for his support of 3-D. Ed Harris presented Lance Henriksen with the life career award, and J.J. Abrams presented Leonard Nimoy with the lifetime achievement award for genre work over some 50 years.

Producer Chuck Roven accepted the “Dark Knight” awards.
