Dr. Jekyll’s evil alter ego Mr. Hyde is headed to the big-screen in an adaptation of the upcoming Dark Horse comic The Strange Case of Hyde, written by screenwriter Cole Haddon. The Strange Case of Hyde is a fresh take on the story, making the split personality the center of a Victorian-era action-adventure that sees him go head-to-head against a historical villain.
Dark Horse Entertainment, producer Mark Gordon and David Ellison’s Skydance Productions have teamed up for the project.
Cole Haddon says,
“Mr. Hyde is one of my favorite literary villains, but he hasn’t been given his due on the big screen for the better part of a century, I’m excited to be playing a part in restoring him to his proper place in the pantheon of movie monsters: at the top of the food chain.”
Dark Horse is slated to unveil the comic book as this week’s San Diego Comic-Con.
