A few days ago it was revealed that Robert Downey Jr. would no longer be starring in Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Lost co-creator Damon Lindelof’s big screen adaptation of Cowboys & Aliens being directed by Jon Favreau. Collider has learned that Bond star Daniel Craig is in talks to join the project and take over Robert Downey Jr.’s role as Zeke Jackson.

Zeke Jackson is the lead in Cowboys & Aliens, a Platinum Studios comic book series set in the mid-1800s. In Silver City, Arizona, Apache Indians and Western settlers must put their differences aside when a spaceship crash lands in their city. The aliens plan to quash the Wild West and enslave humanity, but the cowboys and Apache have other plans.
