D.J. Caruso To Direct Film Adaptation Of I AM NUMBER FOUR

D.J. Caruso (Disturbia, Eagle Eye) will be helming the feature film adaptation of “I Am Number Four” for DreamWorks Pictures. The film is based on an upcoming sci-fi novel about a group of nine earthbound alien teens who escaped their planet just before it was destroyed by a hostile species. While the high school-aged kids assimilate, the title character discovers that he is being hunted by the enemy that blew up his planet.

The novel is being written by James Frey and Jobie Hughes.

Al Gough and Miles Millar (Creators of Smallville) wrote the screenplay, and Michael Bay will produce. The book will be released this Fall, and is the first in a series of six.
