The winners of the 2012 Golden Globes Awards were announced Sunday night, and although at least one was no surprise – it would have been impossible for anyone but Jessica Lange to win that Best Supporting Actress award, really – it was wonderful to see at least a few of the awards going to our people. Of course we graciously congratulate all the winners, but we have a special place in our hearts for the following:
Best Director – Motion Picture: Martin Scorsese, Hugo
Best Screenplay – Motion Picture: Woody Allen, Midnight in Paris
Best Animated Feature Film: The Adventures of Tintin
Best Performance By An Actress In A Supporting Role In A Series, Mini-Series, Or Motion Picture Made for Television: Jessica Lange, American Horror Story
Best Performance By An Actor in A Supporting Role in A Series, Mini-Series Or Motion Picture Made For Television: Peter Dinklage, Game of Thrones
SFX reports that Peter Dinklage delightedly told reporters backstage, “Hopefully it will give that genre a little bit more respect.” Amen, friend, Amen.
