CONAN Undergoes Rewrites, Mickey Rourke And Bob Sapp Join The Cast

While there are just a few weeks left before Marcus Nispel begins shooting CONAN in Bulgaria, screenwriter Sean Hood has been brought in to retool Thomas Dean Donnelly and Joshua Oppenheimer’s original script. It’s not all bad news for the barbarian though, because they’ve recently added two new cast members.

Joining Jason Momoa (Stargate Atlantis, Game of Thrones) as CONAN, and Leo Howard (young Snake Eyes in G.I. Joe) as Young CONAN, are Mickey Rourke (Iron Man 2) as CONAN’s Father CORIN, and Bob Sapp (Elektra) as the villain Ukafa.

From the Conan casting call that was released last October, Ukafa is a massive, unbeatable warrior.

He’s in his 30s-40, very dark-skinned African or African American, massively framed at six-foot-five, gold-toothed, hardened by a lifetime of war, a leader of Kushite Tribemen from the savannahs of Kush. Ukafa is Khalar Singh’s second in command, jealous that Singh’s son, Fariq, will one day be warlord. He obeys his leader but plots the overthrow of his son. He is a mighty warrior and unbeatable in battle until he comes face to face with Conan. LEAD
