Clip and Photos From Tonight’s FUTURAMA Finale: Three Animation Styles Equals Total Win

Yay, it’s here, it’s finally here! Okay, sorry, backing up. The season 6 finale of Futurama airs September 8 – tonight! – with an episode entitled “Reincarnation.” The brief description: “Futurama is reconceived in three alternate animation styles: classic black-and-white, old-school videogame, and Japanese anime.” BUT IT’S SO MUCH BETTER THAN THAT.

Here are some photos from the Steamboat Willy-style part, via Vulture:

LOVE that. But wait, now check out a clip from the 8-bit style part:

But the VERY BEST PART (okay, arguably) will be the anime. They screened that part during the Futurama panel at Comic-Con and It. Is. HILARIOUS. The bad translation, the out-of-sync, the exceedingly heroic, it’s all there. Sorry, no pics or clips, but that’s okay, because it’s best if you can see it fresh.

No kidding, as long as you have any familiarity with anime and/or have a love for black and white cartoons and/or 8-bit video style and/or Futurama, you should love this aptly-placed season finale. JUST WATCH IT.

The Futurama season finale airs tonight, September 8, at 10/9c on Comedy Central.
