Who better to represent the villainous Alexi Volkoff (Timothy Dalton) than the Devil himself? Ray Wise (pictured above left), who played the Devil in the CW’s Reaper, will guest star as as Volkoff’s lawyer in the sixteenth episode of NBC’s Chuck, titled “Chuck vs. the Masquerade.”
As we saw in this week’s episode of Chuck, our hero managed to commandeer the Hydra system, capture Volkoff, and bring his mother Mary (Linda Hamilton) and girlfriend… er I mean fiancé, Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) home. Mary Bartowski will have a continued presence on the show. In fact, look for Hamilton in next week’s episode! Show co-creator Chris Fedak teased that both Hamilton and Dalton will be in multi-episode arcs for the remainder of the season.
This is the same episode that Lauren Cohan (Supernatural, Vampire Diaries) and Robin Givens (Nikita, House of Payne) will guest star in. Cohan’s character is someone “dragged into the spy world” and Givens plays a “National Security Council official whose work coincides with that of Team Chuck and who takes an interest in Casey (Adam Baldwin).”
But an interesting thing to note is that there have been rumors about how Cohan’s (pictured above, right) character will change the dynamic of the show. Could she be Volkoff’s daughter? Her character was described as being the “daughter of a criminal mastermind” after all. Show creators Chris Fedak and Josh Schwartz would only say this:
FEDAK : Lauren is joining the show and maybe she folds into the mythology.
SCHWARTZ : When you have somebody as good as Timothy Dalton you figure out a way to keep him in the show.
Both Fedak and Schwartz urge Chuck fans to keep watching and supporting the show. The decision of whether or not Chuck has another season has yet to be decided, but Schwartz appeals to the loyal fans of the show:
SCHWARTZ : It’s a nail-biter. Chuck fans are going to have to dig down deep and rally once again.
Watch Chuck on NBC, Mondays at 8/7C.
