A few weeks ago, we brought you the news when Universal Pictures began talks to handle the Kick-Ass sequel, with Jeff Wadlow (Cry Wolf, Never Back Down), who wrote the Kick-Ass 2 script for Matthew Vaughn directing.

At the time, cast members from the Vaughn directed original, Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse were said to be negotiating new deals to reprise their roles for the sequel. Now, Deadline reports that Moretz, Johnson, and Mintz-Plasse are now set to close deals to return for Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall.

Nicolas Cage is said to be returning for a cameo, and the film may begin shooting in the fall.
