We’ve been telling you about The Originals, a “back door spinoff” that gets a tryout as the April 25 episode of The Vampire Diaries. It will be set in New Orleans, and will follow original vampires and brothers Klaus and Elijah and their goings-on there. This week’s news is that they will be joined by their sister Rebekah, played by Claire Holt. The three surviving Originals, together again. I know, right? What about Stefan, Rebekah?

Shooting for the special episode begins in New Orleans March 11, but if it’s picked up to series it will shoot primarily in Atlanta (where The Vampire Diaries shoots) to allow for crossovers (yay!), according to EW. Joseph Morgan (Klaus) is clearly looking forward to what’s to come:

“I’m terrified I’m gonna say something I’m not supposed to,” he admits, “but there’s some huge, huge transitions and some reveals that will change the character forever…. We’re gonna see some tremendous moments of vulnerability, but he is so, I wanna swear, badass. We’re gonna see him cooler than he’s ever been before.”
