Casting Continues for The CW’s ARROW

It’s always great to get casting news about a pilot we’re anxious to see. We told you last week that Stephen Amell was cast in the lead role of The CW‘s Arrow, based on DC Comics‘ Green Arrow. Now there is news that another cast member has signed up. Interesting, since right now he’s the mayor of New York. Well, on TV.

Variety is reporting that David Ramsey has signed on to the show to play John Diggle, a former military man and current bodyguard for hire “who soon finds he is trapped in a battle of wits, loyalty and trust.” Ramsey currently plays New York’s mayor on CBS’s Blue Bloods.

That’s two down, a bunch more to go, but it’s moving along and that makes us happy. It’s only February, and series pickup announcements aren’t usually made until May, though cable channels often make their announcements earlier.

We’ll keep you posted on all things Arrow.
