Carl Rinsch To Direct LOGAN’S RUN Remake For Warner Bros.

Commercial director Carl Rinsch (The Gift) has reportedly signed on to direct Warner Bros. Pictures long awaited remake of the sci-fi classic, Logan’s Run. Throughout the course of the film’s development, the remake was previously rumored to have attracted the likes of Bryan Singer (X-Men), James McTeigue (V for Vendetta) and most recently Joseph Kosinski (Tron Legacy) to helm the project.

THR reports that Rinsch is looking to hire a new writer for the remake. The original film starred Michael York and Farrah Fawcett and focused on a future society where everyone’s death was pre-determined and “runners” tried to escape their fate. York played one of the “Sandmen” who hunted down the “runners” and ends up forced to go on the run himself.

Carl Rinsch recently made a huge splash into sci-fi with his short film The Gift, which you can watch below.
