Director Joe Johnston‘s upcoming movie, Captain America: The First Avenger starring Chris Evans is currently filming in London and we brought you some cool pictures and video last week of a vacated set that was being dismantled. Now, we can show you some on-set photos from the production, featuring hundreds of extras in London’s Trafalgar Square filming a scene taking place during the celebration of V-E Day, the day World War II came to an end for the Allied forces fighting in Europe.

The film stars Chris Evans, Hugo Weaving, Tommy Lee Jones, Neal McDonough, Sebastian Stan, Dominic Cooper, Hayley Atwell and Toby Jones.

Captain America: The First Avenger is slated to hit theaters on July 22nd, 2011.
