CAPRICA: Final Five Episodes Air Tonight; Bid To Own a Piece of the Show

The final five episodes of the canceled BSG prequel series, Caprica, air tonight on SyFy beginning 6/5pm C so be sure not to miss it! As the show bows out, you do have the opportunity to own a piece of the show through Propworx’ and NBC Universal Television’s Official Caprica Prop and Costume Auction. Here’s the official press release on the auction:

Propworx, in association with NBC Universal Television Consumer Products Group, announces The Official Caprica Prop and Costume Auction. The auction will commence on January 2, 2011 with six weekly auctions hosted on eBay (see www.propworx.com for auction participation details). Hundreds of props, costumes, production artwork, concept drawings, and set pieces will be up for bid, starting with the first week of auctions January 2 – 9, 2011 and coinciding with the airing of the remaining five episodes of Caprica on Syfy on January 4, 2011 from 6pm to 11pm ET/PT.

Most notable among the lots is the spectacular purple dress worn by actress Alessandra Torresani as Zoe Graystone. Worn by Zoe throughout the entire series, this custom dress was made by production and features a spandex construction with silver braiding and faux jewels around the neckline.

Also up for sale is Lacy Rand’s Hero motorcycle helmet, worn by actress Magda Apanowicz. This screen-used helmet was worn by Lacy while riding Nestor’s motorcycle and includes vintage-looking goggles.

“Caprica holds a special place in the heart of Propworx. We got our start with the history-making Battlestar Galactica Auctions and are honored to be a part of another history-making auction from the series. Caprica’s reputation as both a visually exciting and challenging series is reflected in the amazing items up for auction. As fans, we are excited to bring these props and costumes to the loyal followers of the show,” said Alec Peters, CEO and founder of Propworx, the leading Hollywood studio auction company.

“We’re very happy to be working with Propworx again, as we bring this tremendous collection of Caprica props and wardrobe to our loyal fans,” said Christopher Lucero, Global Director, NBC Universal Television Consumer Products Group.   “We are pleased to give our audience the chance to own a part of Caprica and directly participate in the ever-expanding universe of Battlestar Galactica.”

Set 58 years before Battlestar Galactica, Caprica follows two rival families – the Graystones and the Adamas – as they grow, compete, and thrive in the vibrant world of the peaceful 12 Colonies, living in a society close to our own. Entangled in the burgeoning technology of artificial intelligence and robotics that will eventually lead to the creation of the Cylons, the two houses go toe-to-toe, blending action with corporate conspiracy and sexual politics. Caprica is produced by Universal Cable Productions.
