Butcher Baker Comic Shatters Expectations, Sells Out First Printing

There has been a lot of buzz surrounding Butcher Baker: The Righteous Maker by Joe Casey (Wildcats 3.0) and Mike Huddleston (Gen 13). The comic has been described as raunchy and NSFW, full of tongue-in-cheek visuals and tons of pop culture references. Butcher Baker tells the story of a jaded ex-superhero that gets pulled from a wanton retirement for one last loose end from his glory days. The first  printing has sold out and Image Comics says that a second printing is well on the way with a new cover for your troubles.

The hype surrounding the superhero satire has been building since way back in November, but the enthusiastic debut has shocked even Casey, who promises big things ahead.

“It’s nice to know there’s a healthy amount of readers that are as sick and twisted as I am,” said Casey. “Then again, maybe it’s just all about Huddleston’s art. The best part is, we know this first issue is just the tip of the f***in’ iceberg. Wait until you see what’s coming next!”

The second printing of Butcher Baker: The Righteous Maker hits stores April 13th.
