Brad Bird Hired to Direct Damon Lindelof’s Secret Sci-Fi Project 1952

Back in June, we brought you the news about Lost co-creator and Prometheus screenwriter Damon Lindelof signing a seven-figure deal to write and produce a secret, multi-platform sci-fi project for Walt Disney Pictures, known only as 1952.

Now, Deadline reports that director Brad Bird (Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol) has been hired by the studio to helm the big-scale tentpole project. Nothing else has been officially revealed about the film. While the title may simply be a working title at this point, some speculate that 1952 could be a reference to the year, and others wonder if it is a veiled Lost reference.

No production or release dates have been set for 1952.
