Synopsis:

INTRODUCING THE SECOND CULT MOVIE-ART BOOK FROM GALLERY 1988, ONE OF THE WORLD’S MOST TALKED ABOUT ART GALLERIES! An impressive cult movie art collection, featuring art from Gallery 1988, a Los Angeles art gallery that focuses on pop-culture themed artwork. Be prepared to see your favourite cult movies as you’ve never seem them before! This second volume of Cult Movie Art collects the best of the last two years of the show, with pieces inspired by Escape From New York, Shaun of the Dead, Ghostbusters, The Princess Bride, The Big Lebowski and many more. Gallery 1988’s annual cult movie-inspired Crazy 4 Cult art show has become a phenomenon. 2012’s show moved from LA for the first time, with a triumphant opening in New York.

Gallery 1988’s Crazy4Cult Cult Movie Art 2 is the coffee table art book to end all coffee table art books. In fact, if you own just one art book (and I say this only because I have viewed Gallery 1988’s Crazy4Cult Cult Movie Art 1) this is the book you must own.

Each page contains one or more amazing works of art that are inspired by some of the most beloved cult movies of all time, including but not limited to A Clockwork Orange, The Warriors, The Shining, Alien, RoboCop, Ghostbusters, Back to the Future, Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure, Harold and Maude, Little Shop of Horrors, Fight Club, Shaun of the Dead, Pineapple Express, Donnie Darko, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World. The list goes on and on. Here are a few examples.

I found it almost impossible to flip through the pages of this book without the periodic vocal exclamation. Each time I flipped two pages I announced THIS ONE IS MY FAVORITE only to turn two more pages to announce an even newer favorite. This would repeat over and over. I found it completely impossible to pledge my allegiance to even a top ten. In fact, as I look over the examples that we have here, which I love, there are at least 15-20 that I love even more in the book.

If you are loaded down with money and a love for movies then I strongly encourage you to descend upon Gallery 1988 in California and purchase whatever art they have still available. If you’re not loaded down with cash and wall space then this book is the next best thing, a must own.

I give Gallery 1988’s Crazy4Cult Cult Movie Art 2 Five Out of Five Stars.
