Best GOTHAM Casting News Yet, as Donal Logue Joins the Series

Gotham Donal Logue wide

For the third day in a row we’re able to report casting news about Fox‘s upcoming Batman/Commissioner Gordon/villains origin series Gotham. Although it will reportedly be following young Bruce Wayne from the age of 12 until he starts sporting a cape, the series will primarily revolve around rookie Detective Gordon and his fight against proto-villains and Gotham corruption.

Donal Logue TerriersThat’s why the casting of Gordon’s partner is so important, and why I am so overjoyed at who will be filling the role. For some of you, Donal Logue may be one of those actors whom you recognize, even if you’re not sure from which show or movie. It could be from Sons of Anarchy or Copper (above) or Vikings, but if you ever saw the completely excellent Terriers, you never forgot him. Terriers isn’t one of Our Kind of Shows, but it is one of my favorite series ever, so check it out on Netflix or Amazon Instant. Do that before Gotham premieres, whenever that may be, and you’ll see exactly why I’m so excited about this casting news.

Deadline reports that he’ll be playing Detective Harvey Bullock as a “rough-around-the-edges partner and mentor who plays loose with police procedure, but he gets results … and he does it with old-school, forceful panache.” This is going to be great.

Gotham, starring Ben McKenzie, Donal LogueRobin Lord TaylorZabryna GuevaraSean Pertwee, and Erin Richards, is expected to premiere in 2014 or 2015 on Fox.
