Being Human’s Break From Traditional Supernatural Mythology

With so many shows peddling supernatural creatures, how does the BBC’s Being Human take such characters to a different level? Here the cast of Being Human, Aidan Turner (Mitchell, the vampire), Lenora Crichlow (Annie, the ghost), and Sinead Keenan (Nina, a new werewolf) talk about how this show breaks from traditional supernatural mythology and how it works for this show to engage the human element of each of the characters.

In tonight’s second episode of the second season, Annie (Lenora Crichlow) has attracted not one, but two (living) men, but one of them may not be all that he seems. Mitchell (Aidan Turner) struggles to wrangle the vampire community post-Herrick (vampire leader with world domination intentions killed by George, the werewolf). George (Russell Tovey) and his girlfriend Nina (Sinead Keenan) try to move on with their lives after she finally reveals to him that he had given her the curse at last season’s closer.
