ARROW’s Family Grows as Casting Continues

The casting for this pilot is rolling along at a nice pace. We already told you that the title character of The CW‘s Arrow,  based on DC‘s Green Arrow, had been cast and will be played by Stephen Amell. We also told you last week about the casting of David Ramsey in the part of John Diggle. Now we’re happy to report that the very interesting character of Oliver Queen’s/Arrow’s mom has been cast.

TVLine broke the news that Susanna Thompson (the Borg Queen on Star Trek: Voyager and the Lt.Col. who was Gibbs’s love interest on NCIS) will be playing the she-ain’t-no-Mrs.-Cleaver mother role. Remember, we told you about the part a couple of weeks ago; here’s a reminder:

MOIRA QUEEN
What They’re Looking For: 48 years old, a beautiful woman, Oliver’s mother Moira is a very wealthy woman who is not used to being shaken. Having remarried during the five years that former husband Robert and Oliver were both presumed dead, Moira has had free rein over the Queen billions. Not surprisingly, she’s deeply interested in learning whether or not Robert will also return unexpectedly, to ruin her present marriage and go over the books with a fine-tooth comb.

Looks like a juicy role, and judging from her past work, Ms. Thompson is fully up to the task. Congratulations to her, and congratulations to the viewers – providing, of course, that The CW gives the show the green light. We’ll keep you posted.
