Last month, we brought you the news when Robert Stromberg was hired by Walt Disney Pictures to helm the “Mistress of All Evil” focused spin on the Sleeping Beauty story Maleficent, which is being produced by Joe Roth from a script penned by Linda Woolverton (Alice in Wonderland).
Now, THR reports that while promoting her directorial debut In the Land of Blood and Honey at the Berlin International Film Festival, Angelina Jolie, who has been attached to Maleficent from very early talks of the project, mentioned the film (although not by name) as her return to acting after a two year departure.
Jolie said,
“I haven’t acted in two years, and I haven’t done anything else since this [Land of Blood and Honey]. The next thing I am looking at is a Disney movie”
No official release date has been announced for Maleficent.
