Finally, official word is out confirming that actress Allison Mack will be returning to “Smallville”. Though she will not be a regular for the CW show’s tenth and final season, she will be returning for several episodes. In a statement Mack released, she honors her fans and the role that has become such a big part of her life:
“It’s amazing to think that Chloe Sullivan and I have been one and the same for over a third of my life. I’m truly humbled by the love and loyalty of all the fans whose enthusiasm has carried me — along with a cast and crew that has become my second family — over the past nine and a half years. Out of respect for the amazingly loyal fans and the place I will always have in my own heart for Chloe, I’m coming back for several episodes next season to tie up Chloe’s Smallville legacy properly.”
This does cast a bittersweet tone to the airing of the fan-made commercial honoring both Chloe Sullivan and Allison Mack as an inspirational and positive role model for young women. “Legendary” aired on the CW affiliate in Los Angeles on the night of the season finale last week and is available online here.
Fans of “Smallville” have been able to watch Chloe Sullivan grow and become the woman that she is over the show’s nine seasons. It was Mack’s decision to leave the show, but it is good to see that she will be able to wrap up Chloe’s role in the legacy of “Smallville”. Mack adds:
“It’s been a life-changing ride and I look forward to what lies ahead with the strength of a ‘superhero’ as my foundation.”
