Alice Eve (She’s Out of My League) is reportedly the frontrunner to play the female lead, Peggy Carter, in Marvel’s The First Avenger: Captain America. The 28-year-old is said to top the shortlist of actresses vying for the role and if cast, she would join Chris Evans and Sebastian Stan , who were recently cast as Captain America and Bucky Barnes.

The First Avenger: Captain America hits theaters on July 22, 2011.
