A&E Orders Ten Episodes of Carlton Cuse’s BATES MOTEL

This is a great time for Losties. Yesterday we told you about Elizabeth Mitchell, our beloved Juliet, getting cast on NBC‘s new show Revolution. Last week we told you that Damon Lindelof has a pilot deal in the works with HBO. Now, Lindelof’s Lost co-showrunner, Carlton Cuse, has received even better news: His proposed show is going straight past pilot and into series pickup. And better still? It’s a show for US. OUR kind of show. Here are the details:

New York, NY – July 2, 2012 – A&E Network is going directly to series on Bates Motel from Universal Television with Carlton Cuse (Lost) and Kerry Ehrin (Friday Night Lights and Parenthood) serving as executive producers, it was announced today jointly by Bob DeBitetto, President and General Manager, A&E Network and BIO Channel and the network’s Executive Vice President of Programming, David McKillop. The network is moving straight to series, bypassing a pilot, with a 10-episode order. Pre-production and casting will begin immediately.
