[adult swim] Orders A 40 Episode Bucket Of Robot Chicken

Adult Swim has locked in its top-rated franchise for another two seasons, ordering 40-episodes of “Robot Chicken” from co-creators Seth Green and Matthew Senreich. The huge episode order keeps the stop-motion animation/comedy series, which is the highest-rated original program for Adult Swim on the air for a fifth and sixth season.

Seth Green said he was pleasantly surprised by the major commitment from Adult Swim.

“It’s kind of amazing, We never expected to do a second season, let alone a fifth and sixth. We’re really busy, but we’re still having a lot of fun making it.”

“Robot Chicken” has scored two consecutive Emmy nominations for outstanding animated program, while Green landed a nod for outstanding voiceover performance.

Green and Senreich write the series, along with head writers Tom Root and Douglas Goldstein and their staff; the duo directs with Chris McKay. Green and Senreich executive produce “Robot Chicken” for their Stoopid Monkey Productions, while Alex Bulkley and Corey Campodonico’s ShadowMachine Films also back the show.

Episode orders of this size are rare and 13 episode commitments are the average though, Robot Chicken has traditionally produced 20 episode seasons.
